The Beginning of a Creative Conversation

Updated: Nov 21

Welcome to my new creative blog

I’m thrilled to share this space with you; a place where I can open the door to my creative world, reflect on my artistic process, and explore the themes that inspire my abstract painting.

Why Abstract Painting?

I come from a figurative background and over many years, the work has organically evolved into abstraction. For me, it is both a language and a mystery. It allows me to step beyond the tangible and explore ideas, emotions, and stories that I felt were not open to me through figuration. Every painting I create is a journey; a conversation between my intuition, my tools, and the support.

I believe abstraction is about openness. It invites the viewer to step in, interpret, and connect in their own unique way. This interaction turns my work into a shared experience, where what you see and feel becomes just as important as my original intention.

The Heart of My Process

My creative process is rooted in humanity; the things we make, places we meet and interact and the unintended consequences of the decisions we make. This is alongside emotional and practical decision-making around composition, colour, texture and form. Each work is like a puzzle or riddle which must be solved. At times, it’s exhilarating; at others, it’s a challenge to balance chaos and harmony. The result? Paintings that can be as enigmatic to me as they are to those who view them.

What to Expect from This Blog

This blog will be a space for me to document my journey as an artist. You’ll find:

  • Insights into My Process: From the emotional sparks that inspire my work to the techniques I use to bring them to life.

  • Reflections on Art: Thoughts on themes like colour, mood, and the role of intuition in abstract art.

  • Studio Updates: A behind-the-scenes look at my current projects, exhibitions, and new works.

My hope is that this blog becomes a place where we can connect over a shared love for art, creativity, and the beauty of the unknown.

Let’s Connect
